If you grew up in the 1980's, there is a possibility you were forever moved by the moment Widow Tweed is forced to say goodbye to Todd in The Fox & The Hound. If you weren't...well...you have no soul. LOL. From the moment she wakes him up from his little basket I start to...melt! Then...when she says these words, "Goodbye may seem forever, farewell is like the end, but in my heart's the memory...."
I just die.
By the time she removes the collar....just....don't even look at me.
Look at some gorgeous Autumn leaves instead. LOL.
Sigh I still can remember my eyes swelling with puddles as a youngster in my theater seat in 1981. What do you do when you're 6???
Do I wipe my eyes? Will someone notice?
I should have just stuck to the Read-Along....
"You'll know it is time to turn the page when you hear the chimes ring like this...."
Anyway, we love being out here in Charbonneau especially now that Mother Nature's canopy will begin to change color. I seriously can't wait for all of this to change...
Come to think of it, it's very "Story Book." Isn't it? Small, quaint....just like our very first location! It only makes sense that the "Mothership" would choose to stock it with adorable fabrics like this....
As soon as she brought in Lewis & Irene's new Autumn In Bluebell Wood, it took me back to that classic The Fox & The Hound scene! I also couldn't help but notice how this collection fits in perfectly among the majestic Autumn show here in Charbonneau! Why...I even picked up a leaf and photographed it...JUST FOR YOU! Don't you feel special???
Autumn In Bluebell Wood is unique for a Autumn collection. It's not the typical fall leaves etched in metallic that I feel like has been worn into the ground. The collection has vast appeal from the swirling leaves, to the silhouette of the deer jumping through a forest...to that adorable hedgehog print! What's not to love? It's absolutely adorable!
Do you know what else is adorable? When my Squirrel friends pose for me! I need to give this little buddy a name but all I keep coming up with is...."Earl."
P.S. I love the print below too! It comes in three colorways which you can purchase here!
A couple of posts ago I promised I would share with you the "Mothership's" What's For Breakfast? Club project for the month of September. If you don't know about our What's For Breakfast? Club and you are local...you definitely should join us!
For the month of September she featured this adorable collection of fabric in a fall table runner designed by our friend, Sherri K.Falls of This & That. You can find this pattern in her very popular Sew This & That book.
Who likes mushrooms? Confession Session: It's the one vegetable I just...can't eat. I don't know what it is, but it's something about the texture and the fact that it's a fungus! Seriously...I just can't.
The Autum inspiration continues! Jan & Christine each wanted to make an Autumn bag for carrying their belongings from our Classroom building to the Shoppe, seeew of course they chose to feature that favorite print from earlier in this Fiji Tote Bag. What a great way to feature that print! The pattern is available to purchase here.
Even our neighbor, Lux Sucre Desserts is into the Autumn theme with this recent cake they designed for a baby shower!
Oh I almost forgot! We brought in this adorable Old World Christmas fox ornament to compliment those cute fabrics. I love ornaments that you can use even outside of Christmas and this one certainly can be used in our Autumn decorating!
That's all I've got for today! Hopefully it put some of you in the mood for Autumn! It truly is my favorite time of the year and I can't wait to watch the beauty of the season happen out here at our new location in Charbonneau! Don't forget to register for the October What's For Breakfast? Club on Saturday, October 14 while there are still seats. We have just six more seats left and it's only October 1!
Seeew while I now have to say good-bye, my farewell is not the end as long as you...
Stay Seeew-cial ~ Brian
