My mom, Jan....finally got some time to decorate her tree last week after the Christmas parade. The tree is covered with more than 500 Christopher Radko ornaments and it is gorgeous! With everything that has been happening at the "Shoppe" it was good to just "get away" and focus on the traditions of Christmas.
Speaking of decorating...we love decorating the "Shoppe" for Christmas! In fact, everybody should have at least one holiday quilt or project! This year, however...between Pickleweed and an announcement that I can only share with you in January, we got a bit.... behind! (Gasp!) In our original location we always set up our Christmas display at the end of July/Early August in the front of the shop. This year we took a different approach and we set up a smaller Christmas display near the back of the store and then moved it all forward after Halloween. Never...again. It's one thing to move a shop around once, but twice in just a few months is a heap of work! As recently as December 19, I was still decorating the "Shoppe" as if Christmas were weeks away. So next year...my mom and I are getting the shop decorated early so we can enjoy our own holiday! It's a lofty goal and I am sure there will be those that say, "Christmas already?" but I think we can do it! Besides...many quilters will tell you...that in order to have your holiday projects pieced, quilted and ready to be given as a gift or used to decorate your own home...you've got to start early! So while ya'll get to piecing...I'll work on getting my mom to loan me that fabulous tree for the "Shoppe" next year! I'm sneaky like that;-P
I wanted to take just a moment to let everyone know that if you shop our website, www.hollyhillquiltshoppe.com, from now through December 31, you will enjoy extra savings as part of the FabShop Hop 5 Day Inventory Blow-Out Sale. It's our way of saying thank you to our many loyal local and online customers who have supported us throughout the years! To learn more about this offer, click here and start enjoying the savings! The offers are only valid on-line through December 31...so take advantage of them! That's it for now but I promise to be back with many new fabrics and displays that will begin to appear throughout the Shoppe in January!
Here's to inspiration in the new year! ~ Brian
