Hollyhill Quilt Shoppe & Mercantile opened in September 2005 and is owned by Jan Hill and her son, Brian. "Boughs of Holly" is the official blog for the "Shoppe" and their new gift shop, "Pickleweed Hill" which opened in November 2009. In the spring of 2010, Hollyhill Quilt Shoppe became a Better Homes & Gardens Quilt Sampler Top 10 Shop!

The "Shoppe's" casual elegance is known for its friendly service and beautiful ever-changing displays. The stately interior invites inspiration, dreams and creativity with over 200 finished quilted samples. During the holiday season the "Shoppe" becomes a Christmas wonderland complete with visits from the North Pole! Throughout the year classes and events are offered by pattern designers such as Terri Staats of Sweet Treasures, Debbie Busby of Wooden Spool Designs, Joanna Figueroa of Fig Tree Quilts, Anne Sutton of Bunny Hill, Minick & Simpson and many more! The talented Melissa Hoffman of Fiddle Stitches, who quilts many of the "Shoppe" samples, teaches a variety of beginning classes to inspire the new and experienced quilter.
